- Hmm. Do you have many image maps? They tend to take up a lot of space,
- so reducing the resolution can help. Shadow maps take up a lot of space
- also. Traced shadows are slower but use less memory.

- If the 2 Mb fast RAM card is what is disabling the MMU, you may be
- better off just using your 16 Mb with VMM and forgetting the extra 2 Mb.
- I have a 16 Mb system also, and I use a 50 Mb swap partition with VMM.
- I've rendered some fairly complex pictures with a lot of image maps and
- shadow maps at resolutions of 2000x1680, an it has worked OK. The
- system spends a minute swapping when it first starts to render, but
- after that, it doesn't swap very often at all.
